Onglaze Hand Banders and Gilders Full Time NEW

Required for our busy client in the ST6 area, candidates must be EXPERIENCED in this line of work (NO TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN).

Job Specifications:

• Applying Bands and Lines: Using a specialized brush (often a liner or dagger brush) and a whirler or banding wheel, the bander spins the piece to create perfectly straight, consistent lines, typically around the rim of plates, cups, or bowls.
• Decorative Detailing: Beyond simple bands, they may add delicate intricate patterns or “enamelling” (colored glass paints) to porcelain.
• Gold/Precious Metal Application: Onglaze banders often apply gold, platinum, or luster to the rims of fine china, which requires a specific on-glaze application to remain vibrant.
• Precision and Skill: Because onglaze decoration is applied to a finished, glossy surface, the process requires high precision, as mistakes are harder to correct without ruining the underlying glaze.

Ideally this position is for 39 hours per week, our Client is Flexible and would consider Part Time .
